Decanting

What is decanting?

Decanting basically means decanting a liquid so that the sediment does not follow. When it comes to wine, there are two main reasons for doing so: firstly with well-aged wines, especially reds, you should separate the sediment that is present, and secondly with younger wines that rather need to come into contact with oxygen for the tannins to appear. Most red wines benefit from aeration, but then simply opening the cork is not enough. The neck of the bottle is too narrow and not enough wine comes into contact with the air. In this category, we have therefore collected gadgets that are specially designed to make decanting more efficient and aerate the wine directly from the bottle. If you want to place the wine in a carafe, you will find them in the menu on the left.
