Salamanders
Salamanders are a type of oven used mainly in restaurant kitchens to quickly heat up the surface of a dish. One use, for example, might be to brown or caramelise the surface of a dessert - perhaps the most classic example is crème brûlée. Traditionally, the salamander is usually gas-fired, and it is also gas-fired models that you will find here at KitchenLab.
