Make clear ice at home!
Large and fine ice cubes are an important part of a well-made drink. At KitchenLab you will find not only regular ice moulds but also spherical and clear ice moulds. Clarity is obtained by insulating the sides and bottom of a vessel and letting the water freeze from above - just like a lake freezes. Since the water's density is highest at 4ºC, the water from above freezes at the same time impurities and gas move downwards with the unfrozen water. Thanks to that, the upper part of the ice will be completely crystal clear and the rest will have collected at the bottom. In the old days, large blocks were cut out of lakes and clear ice cubes were cut from them; now you can do it in your own freezer.
