Not all bottles are 75 cl, and not every occasion calls for a whole bottle. Eddy Mini is the small version of Zieher's Eddy decanter, designed by sommelier Silvio Nitzsche for wine served by the glass and for half bottles. It's just as at home in a restaurant as at home on a Tuesday, when there are only two glasses to drink but they still deserve to breathe.
Inside the decanter, swirling shapes are pressed up from the bottom, and as the wine swirls around them the light breaks into coloured reflections and graphic patterns. The body holds approx. 0.8 litres, but the ideal fill is 0.375 litres – a half bottle – since that gives the wine the largest possible surface area exposed to the air. The small size also means you can decant a white wine and then put the decanter in a wine cooler, and it works just as well as a serving carafe for cocktails.
The decanter is made of durable borosilicate glass. Rinse after use and leave upside down to dry.
