Different types of cocktail strainers
There are actually three main types of bar strainers. On the one hand, there is the Hawthoresil that is characterised by its spring construction and small ears. It is used when a cocktail has been shaken and is placed on the outside of the shaker. The other is a julep strainer and it looks like a large perforated spoon. You use a Christmas strainer when you serve a stirred cocktail. You place it diagonally downwards in the mixer glass when you pour. The last one is a fine-mesh sieve that is used to remove the smallest particles if you e.g. make a cocktail with fresh fruit. With us you will find all types of strainers!
