This is a decanter that looks like a work of art and works like a tool. Eddy has a large, round body with swirling shapes pressed into the glass from the bottom up, and as the wine moves inside, the light breaks into reflections and patterns that keep changing. It's hard not to stand and stare at it, and that's exactly the point.
But the shape isn't just for show. The body holds just over two litres, but the idea is that you pour in up to one and a half litres. That maximises the wine's surface contact with the air, and the swirling shapes inside set the wine in motion every time you swirl the decanter. It gives a young, tight red wine the chance to open up, and an older wine the opportunity to leave its sediment behind.
The decanter is made of durable borosilicate glass and has a matt black silicone collar that keeps it steady on the table. With the included base ring it can also be set at an angle, making it a real eye-catcher on the table. Rinse after use and leave upside down to dry.
