Form for making crystal clear ice cubes at home in the freezer. The shape of the box means that the water freezes in the same way as the water surface in lakes. The box is insulated at the bottom and on the sides so that all ice crystals form in one direction. Water has its highest density at 4ºC, which means that when it freezes, it settles. The four-degree water moves downwards with all gases and impurities, while the water that freezes from the top is clear. Unlike normal ice forms where the water freezes from all sides and towards the center, this one only freezes in one direction. At the bottom of the mold is a 'net' on which the ice cubes freeze while the impure water collects underneath. With the right timing, you take out the ice mold before it has frozen, otherwise you just have to remove it afterwards.
