Forty Italian recipes aimed at children aged ten and up, meaning children who will cook the food themselves, not parents cooking for them. That is an important distinction, and it shows in the structure: safety advice, an introduction to the equipment needed, basic techniques and step by step instructions for things like pasta and pizza dough.
The recipes are proper Italian food, not food shaped like animals. Amanda Grant specialises in children's nutrition and cooking and has selected dishes that are both manageable to prepare and nutritionally sensible. Harriet Russell provides the illustrations and has previously worked on, among other things, Jamie Oliver's school food campaign.
The book comes from The Silver Spoon, the standard reference work of Italian cooking, which is why the recipes hold up despite the young target audience. This edition has been redesigned and was published to mark the tenth anniversary of the original. 192 pages.
