Joshua David Stein writes about cooking for kids without collapsing into either pedagogy or humiliation, which is harder than the whole genre likes to pretend. The book assumes kids can eat real food if someone actually makes an effort, while also assuming the very real fact that you are exhausted. The recipes are simple and the tone is dry. This is the only children's cookbook in the range an adult can read without wincing.
