A compact and ruggedly well-built table grill for those who take charcoal grilling seriously. The Nano Pro from Kasai is a smaller but fully capable version of their conrogrills, with room for 2-3 people. It's built to withstand a professional kitchen but works just as well at home - especially if you're the type of person who wants to be able to sear a rib eye with surgical precision.
The body itself is made from brushed stainless steel from the UK and houses the iconic, mineral-based Kasai ceramics that reflect heat inwards. This allows the temperature to shoot straight up in a column of heat rather than escaping sideways. The result is high, even temperatures that are perfect for everything from robata skewers to sous vide finishing. With the right charcoal - read: binchotan - you can quickly reach over 350 degrees without the neighbors calling the fire department. If you want to go all out with real binchotan charcoal, the grill can handle a working temperature of up to 1200°C.
The included steel handles make the grill easier to handle, but most importantly: all parts, including the walls, are available as spare parts. This means that, in theory, this grill can last a lifetime, and not just in theory - the Kasai concept is built for wear and tear, not for the end of its life. When the ceramic parts are worn out, you can replace them - and even grind the old ones down for soil improvement. Yes, really.
The grill grate is also made of sturdy steel and holds firmly in place thanks to discreet spikes at each corner that prevent it from being disturbed by a bit of enthusiastic tongs work. Its size (310 × 230 × 165 mm) means it fits on most surfaces, yet delivers enough pressure to shock grill a steak to perfection in 45 seconds. The heat is real, so stay focused - this isn't a machine you walk away from to check if your potatoes are boiling.
