This is Horl's best model - the Horl 3 Pro, which gives you tons of options. Instead of messing around with the old classic 15° or 20° sharpening angle, you can fine-tune your sharpening angle and still rely on it to be precise without having to concentrate. Thanks to the new improved magnetic support, you choose whether you want 10°, 13°, 15°, 20°, 22° or 25° angle. What's more, it stands firmly on the bench while you roll the grinding wheels against the edge. This is done in the roller with ball bearings that provide a three-fold gear ratio on the rotation. German engineering at its finest in your hands is a very satisfying feeling!
To really take care of the knives, this package includes Horl's accessory pack with two extra grinding wheels that provide a finishing touch to the edge you are grinding. This for additional precision in sharpening and consequently cutting. The Whetstone fine and Whetstone extra fine wheels correspond to approximately 3000 and 6000 grit on wet stone. Of course, we also include the Kagami ultra fine wheel for the ultimate finish. In addition, a leather trigger where you can groom your knife afterwards and take care of it as if it were your first-born child.
While you're geeking out on the best Horl has to offer, it would be almost silly not to use the magnifying glass or loupe to review your sharpening process and help you get the ultimate finish. Of course, the Horl magnifier is also included in this package.
