    • A less serrated knife, not only works for bread but is also perfect for salads and various vegetables, a perfect serrated all-round knife! Cromova 18 steel.

Global's knives are divided into knives whose serial numbers start with G, GS, GF or GSF. G is the usual slightly larger knives. GS stands for Global Small and these are the smaller knives in Global's range, they have a slightly smaller handle. GF stands for Global Forged, the knives in this series are forged in one piece of steel, from the tip of the knife to the end of the handle. GSF thus stands for Global Small Forged, i.e. the smaller forged knives.

Despite the fact that Global's knives are called all-steel knives, they are not, as many believe, made in one piece (with the exception of the GFS & GF knives). Then the handle would be far too heavy and take a very long time to heat up in the hand. The global knife originally consists of two stamped handle halves and a blade, rolled or forged depending on the knife model. The parts are welded together and the handle is filled with sand. The knives then go to a chemical factory where they are dipped in various baths for cleaning and to form black chromium oxide on the entire handle. After this, the knives go back to the factory for sharpening. The wedge shape of the blade is sharpened and the handle is polished so that black chromium oxide remains only in the recesses. This gives the Global Knife's handle its characteristic dot pattern. The small dots, which are actually small concave dishes, have a purpose that not many people know about. They allow the heat radiation that develops in the hand to bounce back and provide an insulating air gap between the handle and the hand, which means that the handle does not feel so cold. Once the handle is polished, it's time to sharpen the knife's edge. Depending on the model, it goes either to the sharpening robot or to hand sharpening. Then it's time for stitching, etching the logo and packing. The knife is shipped off to another happy owner.
