    • About Dextrose High quality dextrose - a naturally occurring monosaccharide found in plants - from our English friends at Special Ingredients. Dextrose is a carbohydrate that is quickly absorbed by the blood and helps the absorption of other nutrients. There is a wide range of applications in everything from juices and cocktails to cakes and other baking. It's about 70% as sweet as regular sugar. Dextrose is very hygroscopic, which means that it easily absorbs water vapor from the environment. Use it also to give flexibility to fondants or to counteract the formation of ice crystals when making ice cream. Another use is to make your own Dextrosol and take in connection with training for a quick energy boost. Usage:   Add to taste. If using for baking, add a little more liquid as dextrose absorbs slightly more liquid than regular sugar. Content: Dextrose Store dry, cool and dark. Opened packaging lasts for six months. Should not be eaten in its pure form.
