30 DAYS OPEN PURCHASEVeark's plastic cutting boards are a considered choice at a time when the reflexive design movement opts for acacia and bamboo for almost everything. The surface is non-porous and does not absorb odours, pigments or bacteria from raw food in the same way that wood does. It withstands the dishwasher without warping, cracking or developing crevices where bacteria collect. These are practical arguments, but Veark adds an aesthetic one: a cutting board in a distinct colour is a design element in the kitchen rather than a white plastic block that hides at the back of the counter.
Yellow is the colour designated for fruit and vegetables in the HACCP system, a systematic way of keeping tools separated by ingredient type. But you do not need to have any coding ambitions to appreciate a strong colour against a counter surface. Size M, 44 x 21 x 1.7 cm, is the format that suits most kitchens as a primary board for daily cooking, with enough surface to work comfortably. Also available in size S and L. Dishwasher safe.
