A truly fine Burgundy, a mature Barolo or an old vintage Champagne is often better off opening up in the glass than being sloshed around in a carafe. Balanced is made for them.
The glass has a large, rounded bowl holding just over eight decilitres, and the base is shaped like a wave that increases the wine's surface area exposed to the air. This lets the wine aerate and open up faster in the glass, while the large bowl gathers the aromatic nuances and lets them develop in peace. The result is a balanced, elegant experience of both aroma and flavour – which is also what the glass is called.
Balanced is part of Zieher's Vision range, where the glasses aren't divided into red and white but named after the character of the wine. It suits red and white Burgundy, great wines from Piedmont, complex but delicate wines of all colours and full-bodied rosés. The glasses are mouth-blown by hand in lead-free crystal glass, and we recommend hand washing to keep them sparkling. Two glasses per pack.
