Set of two food knives or steak knives from Forge de Laguiole.
The village of Laguiole in the south of France has a long and proud tradition of knife making. Since the middle of the 19th century, the iconic design of food knives and folding knives has been synonymous with the name Laguiole. Although the village has a population of just over 1,000, some knife makers remain today and the tradition lives on strongly. As the name is not trademarked and is synonymous with quality and tradition, it has been copied by many and is still done so today. Many cutlery with variations of the Laguiole name are in fact manufactured in completely different places in the world, while our range from Forge de Laguiole is still made by hand in the same village as always.
Here, not a millimeter is left to quality, but each cutlery that leaves the small factory is fine-tuned at the detail level. The blades of French T14 stainless steel are forged on site in the factory in 1000-degree ovens. The wooden or animal handles are cut and polished by hand by experienced knifemakers and the fit of the blade is heavenly. Everything is perfect! This is cutlery that will be the crowning glory of your home or restaurant and a pleasure to use every time!
This pack contains two food knives. The handles are made of walnut wood with a classic luxurious wooden feel that matches many other accessories on the table and in the kitchen.
Since the cutlery handles are handmade from delicate materials, they should continue to be treated with as much care as the manufacturers have given them. That is, no dishwasher or soaking but careful hand drying and polishing. The blades can be maintenance sharpened on wet stone to maintain long-term sharpness.
