Greisinger's classic yellow brick is a laboratory thermometer that was first used by professional chefs because of its immense quality. Years have passed and even in German industrial design, the 1980s have finally come to an end. The old classic GTH1150, GTH1160 and not least the personal favorite GTH1170 have finally given way to the new fresh G2100, or G2100-E1.5 for those who like order and tidiness (which those who are interested in this type of thermometer often are).
Like its predecessors, this thermometer is fast as the wind and works great in kitchens, labs and other environments where it is exciting to measure temperature. The thermometer takes three measurements per second. Because the thermometer is so fast and accurate, you can choose the hold and you can also choose to display the minimum and maximum temperature measured during a measurement. Depending on the probe you use, you can read different temperature ranges with different accuracy, but if you use a class 1 probe such as GES20K, you can measure temperature ranges of -65°C to +550°C with an accuracy of plus or minus 0.4%. Note that this is the range that the thermometer can read. Rarely is the cord itself so durable that it can handle such a high ambient temperature for a long time, ie, do not leave the cord in the grill, but open and quickly measure up to 550°C. The thermometer itself can withstand an ambient temperature between -20°C and +50°C and should also not be left in the grill. The probe included is Ø1.5 mm thick, the cable can withstand up to 150°C for a longer period of time, but up to 230°C for a shorter period.
The thermometer works as usual with K-connector, which means that all probes with K-connector should work for it. The display can rotate 180° and has a backlight. Both the lighting and the power supply are on a timer, but it is possible to set the time. It is also possible to turn off the automatic shutdown completely. Powered by two included AA batteries, it lasts 2500 hours if you don't use the lights. The thermometer is factory calibrated (no certificate included) and can of course be recalibrated.
