The Durand® is a fully patented, two-piece wine opener that allows you to successfully uncork older and fragile wine corks without breaking them.
Durand® was invented by wine connoisseur Mark Taylor, who had experienced difficulties with brittle corks when opening older and fine wines. He founded Wining Taylors, LLC (based in Atlanta, Georgia, USA) to manufacture and market Durand® in 2007. Durand® is named after Yves Durand, a world-renowned sommelier.
Using Durand® on older, fragile or compromised corks reduces the risk of broken corks, corks being pushed down into the bottle or corks being partially removed leaving pieces floating in the wine. Durand® removes the cork whole and intact.
Many wine lovers, collectors, nationally and internationally renowned sommeliers use Durand® today as their primary wine opener.
