Five pairs of chopsticks, five different patterns, and suddenly there's no excuse for mixing up your chopsticks halfway through dinner. Each pair in this set from Kawai has its own classic Japanese komon – small repeating patterns that have adorned kimono fabrics for hundreds of years: arrow feathers (yagasuri), interlocking circles (shippo), hemp leaves (asanoha), fawn spots (kanoko) and fans (ogi).
The chopsticks are made of susutake, bamboo with a dark, smoked tone, and have a coating that makes them dishwasher safe. The tips are treated for a better grip. Kawai is based in Obama in Fukui and has been making chopsticks since 1943.
Five pairs, 22.5 cm long. Made in Japan.
