A plank steak board in wood for anyone who serves the plank steak properly, straight from the board. Pipe mashed potato around the edge, lay on meat and vegetables, into the oven and out to the table. The first time the board meets oven heat the wood may expand and pick up small cracks. That is completely normal and doesn't affect how it works.

Wood care
Oil the wood before first use, ideally with paraffin oil. Apply generously, spread it with paper towel and stand it on edge overnight so the wood drinks it in. Wipe off the excess. It wants regular oiling through the first year, after that just oil it when it looks dry. Clean it with a damp cloth and a little washing-up liquid. If it needs rinsing, always wet both sides equally, otherwise the wood can swell on one side and crack. Stand it on edge to air-dry, then oil it once dry. Properly oiled, the wood shrugs off any food, even fish. It must never go in the dishwasher and never be left standing in liquid or damp.
