The ceramic mechanism releases aromas effectively and is guaranteed for 25 years. Natural variations in the ash grain are to be expected and are part of the product's character.
Cleaning: unscrew the adjustment wheel and remove the ceramic cone. Clean with a stiff brush. If needed, the cone can be soaked in warm water to dissolve residue. Allow all ceramic parts to dry completely, at least 24 hours, before reassembling. When changing spices: grind through a little coarse salt to clean the mechanism. Not dishwasher safe.
