The most tedious part of homemade pasta isn't the rolling, and it isn't the cutting. It's the kneading. Ten minutes of arm power over a dough that at first refuses to hold together and then sticks to everything. Pasta Fresca takes care of exactly that part, and a bit more.
Pour in 500 grams of flour and 250 grams of liquid, egg or water, and start the machine. It kneads for about three minutes with a blade shaped to mimic the motion of an Italian grandmother's hand on a pastry board, and the result is an elastic, even dough of 750 grams. Then the same machine carries on. Run the dough through the rollers, which make 15 cm sheets with ten thickness settings, and cut them into fettuccine or tagliolini with the included cutters. From flour to finished pasta, all on one worktop.
The kneading function works just as well for pizza dough, bread, biscuits and shortcrust pastry. More cutters are available, including spaghetti, capellini, pappardelle, trenette and bigoli. The lid, blade and side hatch come off easily for cleaning.
Includes rollers for lasagne sheets and cutters for fettuccine (6.5 mm) and tagliolini (1.5 mm). The rollers are anodised aluminium and the body ABS and polycarbonate. 170 W, 220 V. Dimensions 31 x 15.5 x 21 cm.
