A removable handle prevents you from burning your hand when you use the pan to finish cooking in the oven. You also avoid collisions between the handles if you have a tight space on the hob. You can buy the handle separately in different colors (art. no. 8359.00 and others). Mineral B are uncoated frying pans in pure carbon steel that only work better and look better over the years. The lack of non-stick coating allows frying at really high temperatures and the pan is of course also oven safe. Works on all heat sources including induction. The series is called Mineral B and comes with a protective coating of beeswax. Before use or firing, the beeswax must be removed. This is best done by using very hot water to soften the beeswax which can then be wiped off with a towel or kitchen towel. NOTE! The handle is also covered in beeswax. Remember that if you want to use the pan in the oven, remove the small rubber plug at the top of the handle. De Buyer has been making frying pans in the Vosges in France since 1830.
