Konstantin Grcic saw something else in it: turned upside down, the funnel becomes an oil cruet, a simple gesture that redefines form and function in a single move. Just as in Magritte’s famous Ceci n’est pas une pipe, KG02 reminds us that the meaning of an object is not fixed. Grcic founded his studio KGID in Berlin in 1991 and is one of Europe’s most respected names in product design, known for formal precision, technological curiosity and a subtle sense of irony.
KG02 is made from mirror-polished 18/10 stainless steel and holds 60 cl. The angled spout is calibrated for drip-free pouring, while an integrated drip-catching system collects any excess and keeps the table clean. The lid with silicone seal protects the oil and prevents spills. Height 19.3 cm, 16 × 15 cm.
An oil cruet for those who know that the aesthetics of the ritual matter just as much as the oil inside it.
