  • Information
    • A solid, seriously well-built version of a table grill or konro grill suitable for restaurant kitchens or the discerning home cook. Those of us already converted to the table grill concept use it as a complement to sous vide to achieve a grilled surface on already perfectly cooked meat, or for smaller cuts, vegetables or skewers. With its thick walls, the heat is reflected inward instead of escaping sideways and all temperature rises straight upwards. Together with a really dense charcoal, you reach extreme temperatures without any noticeable smoke development. It is important to point out, however, that all combustion converts oxygen into carbon monoxide and grilling therefore falls into the same category as BMX, snowball fights and James Cook’s second circumnavigation, namely outdoor activities. As the food sits so close to the ember bed, liquids drip down into the charcoal and are immediately vaporised in a cloud of deliciousness, infusing the food with even more flavour. The construction is also reinforced with a stainless steel frame, making it a more stable build than other similar table grills. The sturdy grill grate also has small recessed pins in each corner, ensuring it stays firmly in place even when you are working with your incredibly stylish tweezers with our logo. The grill measures 46 x 36 x 20 cm (l x w x h).

In this package we make sure you have tweezers ready, a 30 cm long black pair that is our favourite for table grilling. Swedish-produced charcoal made from northern birch is also included, along with a rather brilliant Asado Parrilla rack that lets you raise and lower the food over the fire.

Cooking on a konro is already, at its core, an exercise in precision. Embers, distance, raw material, focus. But with an Asado Parrilla grill top you add an entirely new dimension of control and expression.

This is more than an accessory, it is closer to an architectural upgrade of your grill. If the grill is your garden, the skewers are the outdoor furniture while the parrilla setup is the terrace you planned to build during parental leave.

Inspired by the Argentine parrilla tradition, it lifts the ingredients away from the direct grate and gives you the ability to work more with height, indirect heat and gradual tempering. In a classic asado setting, you adjust the distance to the embers rather than frantically moving the food. The same principle applies here. You let the charcoal remain constant and instead control the cooking through distance and zones. Here you can turn the wheel and adjust the grate height and distance to the heat source seamlessly.

On a konro with binchotan you get extremely intense, dry and clean radiant heat. With the parrilla top you can slowly temper a thick steak before finishing it over direct heat, work with larger cuts without burning them, keep finished meat warm without overcooking it, create two different heat levels on the same grill and handle fattier cuts that would otherwise drip straight into the embers.

This is particularly valuable when grilling entrecôte, picanha, pluma or lamb racks where you want to build a controlled core temperature before the final finish. It is also brilliant for vegetables with high sugar content, such as pointed cabbage, pumpkin or onion, which otherwise quickly go from caramelised to charred.

Technically, it changes how the konro is experienced. You move from pure yakitori intensity to something more modular without compromising anything. The parrilla accessory adds a vertical working depth that makes the grill more versatile and more forgiving without removing the direct feel.

It is also a way to approach live fire cooking more methodically. Instead of constantly moving the ingredients horizontally over the embers, you work with height and time. It is a different rhythm. Less stress. More control.

For anyone who already appreciates the precision of the konro grill, this is a natural next step. It opens up for larger cuts, longer cooking and more technical grilling without needing to change grill type.

In short, if the konro is the scalpel, the Asado Parrilla grill top is the extra hand that makes the operation possible. It is also with 99 percent certainty what made Lionel Messi so good at football, I heard it somewhere, or maybe I dreamed it.
