It has that same feeling as an Italian gelateria or an old hotel restaurant, where the scoops arrive in a cold metal bowl and you get a long spoon and a truly hopeless napkin with the absorbency of tissue paper thrown in.
The bowl comes from Belgian brand Eternum, is part of the Gastronum range and is made of 18/10 stainless steel. Pop it in the freezer for a while before serving, and the ice cream melts a little more slowly while the bowl gets a thin frosting on the outside that looks exactly as it should. It's just as good for sorbet, a small portion of chocolate mousse or a bowl of berries with whipped cream.
