With three daughters and a wife to serve, he decided to do the job properly, and in 2004 that personal assignment resulted in Todo, a grater with a theatrical presence that quickly found its place on the tables of fine-dining restaurants. Todo Mini is the 2026 version for the home: the same truncated conical form in 18/10 stainless steel, the same beechwood handle, 32 cm high and scaled for the private dining table. Sapper, who won the Compasso d’Oro eleven times and designed Alessi’s 9090 espresso maker, died in 2015.
The truncated conical form allows one hand to hold it securely while the other runs the cheese along the body. One movement gives one portion, directly onto the plate. On the back is a fine-toothed section for nutmeg. Compact enough for the kitchen worktop, sculptural enough to leave on display. Todo is also available in a larger format for those setting a more generous table.
