370 is a fruit and citrus holder formed from curved wire arches in polished 18/10 stainless steel, anchored at the base and held together by a ring at the top. Diameter 22 cm, height 22.5 cm. It is not something the specifications can convey, but the object comes alive in the curve of the wire and the light, airy character of its open structure. The fruit can be seen from inside and out. That is the idea.
The design is credited to Ufficio Tecnico Alessi, the company’s own technical department, a collective work without a single named designer. That it nevertheless became one of the most recognisable objects in Alessi’s history says something about what good proportions and the right material can achieve without a famous designer’s name attached.
More than seventy years in production. Nothing has replaced it.
