The Staub round cocotte in pomegranate red is one of the true classics of French cooking. The inside of the lid is fitted with picots, small conical spikes in a dense pattern that catch the rising steam, condense it and let it drip evenly back down over the food throughout cooking. Staub calls it Aroma Rain, and it's the reason braised meat and slow-cooked stews come out juicier in a pot with this system than under a lid without it.
The interior is lined with Staub's matt black enamel, a finish that withstands high temperatures, improves with use and is ideal for browning right in the pot. The exterior is enamelled in a deep, rich shade of red that's part of Staub's permanent colour collection. Cast iron heats slowly and evenly, stores heat efficiently and works on the hob, in the oven and on all types of cooktop including induction. Made in France. Available in sizes from 10 to 28 cm.
