The first 24 aromas cover what you want to find in a good wine: strawberries, truffle, honey, honeysuckle and 20 other classics for red and white. Then it starts to get interesting. The last 16 are the complex, the odd and, let's say, the educational ones: caramel, fig, lychee and hay are still pleasant enough, but the list ends with cork, mould, sulphur and skatole (eeew). To get really good at wine you also need to be able to name what has gone wrong, and that requires actually knowing what wrong smells like.
