This is the ice cream bowl from the summer cafés of your childhood. The one on a foot, in ribbed glass, with the scoops piled up and a wafer on top, chocolate sauce running down the sides and someone always insisting on a cocktail cherry in a shade of red that today can only be found in pictures in second-hand cookbooks. The fact that the range is called Tahiti doesn't make it any worse.
The bowls come from French glassmaker La Rochère, which has been making glass in Passavant-la-Rochère since 1475. They are made of pressed glass, stand on a small foot and have a ribbed bowl that catches the light. Just as lovely for ice cream and sorbet as for fruit salad, panna cotta or individual tiramisu. They also stack, which not every footed ice cream bowl can manage.
Six bowls per pack. Capacity 23 cl, diameter 10 cm, height 8.2 cm. Dishwasher safe. Made in France.
