Marie Antoinette almost certainly never said the people should eat cake instead of bread, but if she had, she would have wanted a suitable plate to serve it on. Here it is.
Versailles is a range from French glassmaker La Rochère, which has been making glass in Passavant-la-Rochère since 1475. The pattern is baroque, with raised scrolls, flowers and shells that catch the light and give even a simple slice of cake, a slice of pâté or a few petits fours the feel of a palace dinner.
Six plates in clear glass, 14.6 cm in diameter. Just right for dessert, starters or cheese.
