Spoiler alert! In Alice in Wonderland from 1865, a little cake says ""eat me"", and she ends up growing so much that she hits her head on the ceiling. With these bowls the effect is more modest. An ice cream sundae with three scoops, a layered trifle or a mousse with berries just looks a little bigger than it really is.
Alice is a range of footed bowls from French glassmaker La Rochère. If you thought a spoiler alert for a novel more than 160 years old was silly, you were wrong. Compared with La Rochère's output, Lewis Carroll's children's classic is practically as fresh as last season's box set is for us, and that definitely warrants a spoiler alert. They have, after all (with some staff turnover), been making glass in Passavant-la-Rochère since 1475.
These bowls are made of thick pressed glass with a flared bowl and fine ribbed lines in relief. They stack and are dishwasher safe.
Six bowls per pack. Capacity 33 cl, diameter 12.5 cm, height 12 cm. Made in France.
