Manual coffee grinder from Zassenhaus in black anodised aluminium and tinted glass, fitted with a CNC-milled grinding mechanism in stainless steel. CNC manufacturing gives every part of the mechanism a precision that directly affects how evenly and consistently the coffee is ground. Double rows of ball bearings contribute to razor-sharp precision and a smooth, quiet grinding experience, without the motor noise and frictional heat that electric grinders produce. Heat is the enemy of coffee grinding: it evaporates aromas and flattens the flavour, something manual grinding avoids entirely.
The grind setting is adjusted using a dial at the base and covers the full range from fine espresso powder to coarser filter coffee. The grinder is compact enough for travel and the office without compromising on capacity or feel. The packaging includes a cleaning brush, storage bag and two coffee containers. Naturally, there is also a lid on the grinder, and it is purely coincidental that so many beans have been spilled in the product images. The grinding mechanism comes with a 25-year guarantee.
Cleaning: grind 0.5 dl of dry rice on the fine setting at regular intervals. Never use water — it is difficult to dry thoroughly and can cause rust on the grinding mechanism.
