This teapot from Staub is both kettle and teapot in one. The water is heated right in the pot on the hob, and under the knob on the lid is a hook for a tea infuser, so the tea can steep where the water boiled. Cast iron holds the heat long after the pot is lifted off the hob, and the interior is enamelled in matt black.
The exterior is graphite grey, a dark, muted shade that looks just as good next to stainless steel as next to wood. The handle is stainless steel and keeps the lid in place as you pour. It gets hot when the pot is on the hob, so use an oven glove. Capacity 1.15 litres. Diameter 16 cm, height 18 cm, weight 2.1 kg. Works on all hobs including induction and is dishwasher safe.
