      CAP #3

      gubbröra:

Gubbröra - is it a delicious egg and anchovy mix or a concise description of the current state of world politics? Both work, but we were thinking more about the anchovy paste.

There are many recipes for gubbröra, all good, but in our opinion a ""proper"" gubbröra should contain neither mayonnaise, crème fraîche, potato, apple, matjes herring nor any other such nonsense. Inside the cap you'll find the recipe for what we (Pelle, self-appointed expert) consider the real gubbröra.

The model is a classic 6-panel corduroy cap with an adjustable metal buckle at the back. The colour is blue in a shade that works equally well in urban settings and matches the boiler suit you wear when cleaning your own nets.

      smör:

Yes, you're reading that right - it's back: the ""Butter Cap"". After the previous butter cap sold out in under 24 hours, countless customers who missed out last time have been getting in touch with what some might describe as borderline threatening messages - so here it is again!

Last time it was a very small batch, so spotting one in the wild was like seeing a unicorn. This time the run is a little bigger, but expect them to sell out fast.

Many have come to regard this cap as something of a modern classic.

      1873 - ""501 Jeans®"" - Levi's

1926 - ""The Little Black Dress"" - Coco Chanel.

      1984 - ""The Birkin Bag"" - Hermès.

2022 - ""The Butter Cap"" - The Kitchen Lab

The cap is black with a slight vintage feel, made from 100% washed and brushed cotton, 6 panels, a pre-curved peak and a metal buckle at the back to adjust the size.

      schnitzel:

Let's travel back in time, to a moment when someone in Central Europe looked at a piece of veal and thought: ""What happens if I pound the living daylights out of it, dip it in breadcrumbs and fry it?"" The answer was Wiener Schnitzel, and the world has never been the same since.

""If there's schnitzel on the menu, you order the schnitzel"" - a saying many live by, including us at The Kitchen Lab. The cap doesn't just work as headwear - it comes with a bonus feature: a built-in size gauge. If the schnitzel you're served at a restaurant is smaller than the cap, send it back and ask for a new one.

This cap is slightly softer in material than our other caps. It's beige, made from 100% cotton, has 6 panels with embroidered eyelets to keep your head cool - which isn't always easy in the middle of a proper feast. The peak is pre-curved and the cap has an adjustable metal buckle at the back so you can set it to your perfect size.

      råbiff:

Today, the term Tatars most commonly refers to the Kazan Tatars, also called the Volga Tatars - although the Kazan Tatars are sometimes considered a subgroup of the Volga Tatars. They are a people who live primarily in Tatarstan (formerly the Tatar Republic of the Soviet Union) in Russia, where they make up a slim majority. They are also found in Bashkiria, other parts of Russia, as well as in Uzbekistan, Iran, China (particularly in Xinjiang) and Ukraine.

Their main language is Tatar, a Northwestern Turkic language belonging to the Kipchak-Bulgar subgroup. Many also speak Russian. Most are Sunni Muslims, though there is also a small group who follow Orthodox Christianity.

Steak tartare got the name ""tartar"" from the Tatars, who were mistakenly believed to eat their meat raw.

The cap has a slight ""vintage feel"", is made from 100% washed and brushed cotton, has 6 panels, a pre-curved peak and a metal buckle at the back to adjust the size. The colour is reminiscent of a serving that was never finished and has been sitting on the counter for a few hours.

      vit bourgogne:

While Burgundy wines are often red and made from Pinot Noir, there is a truly special experience we want to illustrate here. Imagine a sunny but pleasantly mild summer evening - sitting out in the Nordic evening light with a cold-fermented baguette so beautifully imperfect that the average supermarket shopper would have put it back on the shelf, alongside unpasteurised French butter and a well-aged cheese with a good saltiness and fat content that far exceeds the temperature of the hottest summer day.

The day has been glorious with great friends. Dinner was wonderful, but now a quiet calm settles in - the gentle rustle of the wind through birch leaves a reminder to stay present in the beautiful moment. Flowers hang heavy from bushes and trees, and in the glass a fine aged Chardonnay is slowly sweating. Just the nose alone is a memory for life. The first contact with your tongue and palate makes you feel like life simply cannot get any better. Except for that rose-tinted Nordic light. The sun sits so low it almost gives you a migraine as you search your companions' expressions for confirmation of the wine's divinity. That's when you pull on The Kitchen Lab's very own cap, making it unmistakably clear what you're drinking - White Burgundy! Best of all - if it's overcast, wear it back to front and feel young again!

The cap is a six-panel model made from 100% cotton. The colour matches the wine quite well in poor lighting.

      klämmis:

Enjoying food isn't just for the technically minded. Some have the ability to compose dishes and combine flavours, while others simply enjoy what others have cooked. Some, for the time being, lack teeth and stick to a diet of breast milk and mashed fruit - but can experience a full-on gastronomic revelation at first contact with flavour, spice, tomato sauce (or sauce in general), often expressing their appreciation loudly and without restraint. Even if we wouldn't normally call ourselves populists, we've in this case caved completely and made a cap featuring the nation's most loved and requested dish (at least in the age category that hasn't graduated to chips yet) - namely klämmis, the classic Swedish spaghetti sandwich.

The cap is navy blue, made from 100% cotton and best suited to those with a head circumference that follows the growth chart for people up to 6 months old.
