Keeping butter in the fridge all the time makes it rock hard and puts big holes in the crust of the bread. Keeping it out on the counter makes it sloppy and runny and shortens its shelf life. Using anything other than real butter would also be a pretty miserable existence. Thankfully, we can now keep the butter at just the right temperature at all times, which makes it so much easier for sandwiches, but not least for baking and cooking. So incredibly wonderful!
In addition to tempering, the built-in scale allows you to easily take just as much butter as you need for the ganache. The butter knife is tailor-made to fit in and always be ready for the next sandwich.
Buttercup has been developed with the environment, hygiene and a good butter experience in mind. All thermoplastics and metal parts used are 100% recyclable and all electronic parts are RoHS approved. The butter knife is Swedish-made and FSC-approved.
The temperature is easy to set at the touch of a button and the scale is easy to read. You can easily remove the inner tray where the butter is located and wash it in the machine. Buttercup can temper the butter to any degree in the range 14-19°C where 17°C is the preset standard. It is plugged into the wall socket, but is also an insulated vessel, which means that it maintains a good temperature if you unplug it and place it on the table during dinner.
