This board from Zwilling is made of solid, oiled bamboo and is seriously substantial: 4 cm thick and just over 3.3 kg. It stays exactly where you put it. The juice groove on one side really comes into its own here, catching the meat juices from the roast that would otherwise find their way onto the worktop. The other side is smooth and makes a great cheese and charcuterie board when there are more around the table. Bamboo is actually a grass, and the surface is hard-wearing yet kind to your knives.
